Dinner Time Privacy Policy
Effective September 20, 2026
Dinner Time is provided by Soupbone Labs. This policy explains how the Android and iOS apps and their supporting service handle information.
Information you provide
You may enter ingredients, meal preferences, dietary preferences, cooking feedback, and other recipe-request details. If you choose a scan feature, you may also provide a fridge or pantry photo. Do not include people, documents, addresses, or other personal information in scan photos.
AI processing
Dinner Time sends recipe requests and scan photos over an encrypted connection to a Dinner Time service hosted on Google Cloud. That service sends the content to Google Gemini to generate recipes and identify ingredients. Dinner Time does not save scan photos or recipe-request text in an application database.
Dinner Time currently uses Gemini's unpaid service quota. Under Google's terms for unpaid Gemini services, Google may use submitted content and generated responses to provide and improve its products, and human reviewers may process that content. Do not submit sensitive, confidential, or personal information. Learn more in Google's Gemini API Additional Terms and Privacy Policy.
Information stored on your device
Your ingredients, recipe history, favorites, shopping list, cooking feedback, preferences, and an anonymous app identifier are stored in the app's private storage on your device. Dinner Time does not require an account. Android backup is disabled for Dinner Time.
Technical information
Google Cloud may process IP addresses, timestamps, request paths, response status, and related technical information when you use the service. This information is used for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, diagnostics, and service reliability. It is not used by Soupbone Labs for advertising or sold to third parties. Infrastructure logs are retained according to the Google Cloud project's logging settings and then deleted.
Recipe reports
If you report an AI-generated recipe, Dinner Time sends the recipe identifier, recipe title, selected report reason, and report time to its service. Reports are logged for safety review and service improvement. Do not put personal information in a recipe title or report.
Advertising
Dinner Time shows ads through Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may use your device's advertising ID to serve and measure ads. Google may collect device and usage information as described in the Google Privacy Policy and AdMob privacy guidance. On Android, you can reset or opt out of personalized ads in settings (Google > Ads). On iPhone and iPad, Dinner Time asks for App Tracking Transparency permission before personalized ads are requested, and you can also control tracking in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Sharing and sale
Soupbone Labs does not sell your information. Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate Dinner Time, including Google Cloud, Google Gemini, and Google AdMob, or when required by law.
Children
Dinner Time is a general-audience household cooking utility and is not directed to children under 13. Soupbone Labs does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and deletion
You can use Dinner Time without scanning photos. You can remove individual ingredients, favorites, shopping items, and history through app features. To delete all Dinner Time data stored on your device, open Settings and choose “Delete all my data.” Uninstalling the app also removes its local app data.
To request deletion of recipe reports or infrastructure logs that may still be on Soupbone Labs systems, email soupbonelabs@gmail.com. See the data deletion page for the full steps.
AI and food-safety notice
Recipes and ingredient identifications are generated by AI and may be incomplete or incorrect. Check all ingredients for allergies and dietary needs. Follow authoritative food-safety guidance and cook foods to safe internal temperatures. Dinner Time does not provide medical advice.
Changes
This policy may be updated as Dinner Time changes. The effective date above will be revised when material updates are made.
